Diagnostic Technologist – Per Diem

About the role

The Diagnostic Technologist provides high‑quality radiologic imaging under physician direction while adhering to radiation safety standards. This per‑diem position supports patient care in a fast‑paced, technology‑driven health network.

Key responsibilities

• Produce diagnostic‑quality images, process them, and prepare them for radiologist interpretation.
• Apply radiation protection standards, including proper exposure factors, collimation, distance, and documentation of LMP, fluoroscopy time, and patient history.
• Verify physician orders, ensure correct CPT codes, and confirm that studies are correctly uploaded to PACS.
• Maintain equipment, report malfunctions, and assist with training new staff and students.
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.

Required profile

• Technical School Diploma or graduate of an accredited Radiography program (less than 1 year experience).
• State of Pennsylvania RT – Registered Technologist Radiology license.
• Basic Life Support certification (American Heart Association).
• Ability to handle confidential patient information ethically.

Required skills

• Radiography and imaging equipment operation.
• Radiation protection and safety procedures.
• Use of PACS for image management.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) competency.
