About the role
Georgetown University seeks a reliable Custodian to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across its campuses. This full‑time position works 40 hours per week, providing essential support for daily operations and special events.
Key responsibilities
- Perform general and specific cleaning tasks according to a detailed cleaning plan, covering 28,000‑35,000 sq ft per shift.
- Handle snow and ice removal, water or fire damage cleanup, and support for special events.
- Use standard custodial tools, equipment, and supplies while adhering to all safety regulations.
- Report to Custodial Supervisors and collaborate with other facilities staff as needed.
- Respond to emergency assignments from various university managers, including the Work Management Center and Director of Facilities Management.
Required profile
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- One year of custodial experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license from Maryland, Virginia, or the District of Columbia.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including emergencies such as snow removal or staffing shortages.
- Professional demeanor and compliance with university attendance and clock‑in policies.
