About the role
The Facilities Management department at Georgetown University Law Center is seeking a skilled HVAC Mechanic to join its team. This full‑time position supports the operation and comfort of university buildings by maintaining heating, ventilation, air‑conditioning, and refrigeration systems.
Key responsibilities
- Perform journeyman‑level maintenance and repairs on HVAC and refrigeration equipment in accordance with industry standards.
- Respond to service calls, conduct scheduled preventative maintenance inspections, and execute unscheduled repairs or overhauls.
- Maintain and calibrate pneumatic thermostats, actuators, air distribution lines, compressors, dryers, filters, and PRV stations.
- Work with DDC/energy‑management panels and related control systems.
- Utilize standard tools, equipment, and safety procedures while ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for building occupants.
Required profile
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 4–5 years of experience performing HVAC and refrigeration maintenance at a journeyman level.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical schematics and technical manuals.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
