CT/Diagnostic Technologist II

About the role

The CT/Diagnostic Technologist II performs diagnostic CT and radiologic imaging under physician direction, ensuring high‑quality images while maintaining radiation safety. This position provides direct patient care in a hospital setting, supporting emergency, inpatient, and outpatient services, including trauma and ICU patients.

Key responsibilities

• Operate CT and related imaging equipment safely, including injectors and monitors, and review images for quality.
• Prepare patients by reviewing charts, verifying information, providing education, and addressing questions while maintaining confidentiality.
• Document exam details, monitor radiation exposure, and ensure images are correctly stored in PACS.
• Assist with department meetings, train new staff and students, and coordinate exam scheduling with the team.

Required profile

• Technical School Diploma or graduate of an accredited Radiography program.
• At least 1 year experience as a Radiologic Technologist and 1 year as a CT technologist.
• Basic Life Support certification (American Heart Association) and state registration (RT, CT, ARRT) within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to lift/carry 40‑50 lb and stand/walk for extended periods.

Required skills

• Proficient use of advanced CT scanning software and post‑processing applications.
• Knowledge of radiation safety standards and PACS workflow.
• Strong interpersonal skills for patient interaction and team collaboration.
