Crop Claims Specialist – Rural Community Insurance Services

About the role

Zurich is seeking a Crop Claims Specialist to join the Rural Community Insurance Services (RCIS) team. The role supports crop insurance claims across North Dakota, with candidates required to reside within 50 miles of designated counties. This position offers a hybrid work environment and a full‑time schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Exercise judgment to determine liability by gathering and analyzing relevant facts and applying applicable procedures.
• Determine policy verification and coverage by analyzing applicable coverage for claims.
• Participate in Risk Management Agency‑initiated reviews and referrals to ensure operational integrity and quality assurance.
• Protect Zurich’s reputation by keeping claims information confidential.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge through educational opportunities and industry networking.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent with at least four years of experience in agricultural or crop insurance.
• Obtain Crop Adjuster Proficiency Program (CAPP) certification within 180 days of hire.
• Personal transportation for travel within the assigned territory and occasional remote assistance.
• Physical ability to walk up to 3 miles in fields, climb storage bins up to 25 feet, and lift 25‑50 lb.
