Crop Claims Specialist / Field Adjuster I

About the role

Zurich is seeking a Crop Claims Specialist or Claims Crop Field Adjuster I to join its Rural Community Insurance Services (RCIS) team, supporting farmers and ranchers across the United States. The role can be performed remotely but requires residence within 50 miles of specific South Dakota counties.

Key responsibilities

• Exercise judgment to determine liability and coverage by gathering and analyzing claim facts.
• Participate in Risk Management Agency reviews and referrals to ensure operational integrity.
• Maintain confidentiality of claim information and protect Zurich’s reputation.
• Stay current with industry trends through education and professional networks.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• For Field Adjuster: minimum 6 months agricultural experience; for Specialist: at least 4 years in agriculture or crop insurance.
• Obtain Crop Adjuster Proficiency Program (CAPP) certification within 180 days of hire.
• Reliable personal transportation for travel within the assigned territory.

Required skills

• Intermediate Microsoft Office proficiency.
