Crop Claims Field Adjuster I – Remote (South Carolina)

About the role

Zurich is seeking a Crop Claims Field Adjuster I to join its Rural Community Insurance Services (RCIS) team. The position is home‑based, serving a 50‑mile radius within several South Carolina counties, with approximately 50% travel required. This full‑time role offers the chance to support America’s farmers and ranchers.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct field inspections, read maps and aerial photos, and measure fields and storage bins.
• Discuss crop loss findings with farmers on complex, non‑routine claims.
• Explain regulations and claim situations to claimants, agents, and industry partners.
• Gather factual information, apply applicable law, and determine potential indemnities.
• Perform claim reviews and audits of lower‑level adjusters as assigned.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory and company policies.
• Contribute to team projects and overall results.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 6 months agricultural experience.
• Crop Adjuster Proficiency Program (CAPP) certification obtained within 180 days of hire.
• Reliable personal transportation, valid driver’s license, and ability to meet physical requirements (walk up to 3 mi, climb 25 ft, lift 25‑50 lb).
• Preferred: strong verbal and written communication, organization skills, prior crop adjuster experience, and intermediate Microsoft Office proficiency.
