Counselor 1 (G) – Vocational Rehabilitation

About the role

The Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency seeks a Counselor 1 to provide vocational rehabilitation services to individuals with disabilities, helping them achieve competitive, integrated employment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain referral sources and conduct interviews with participants.
• Review and interpret education, vocational, psychological, and medical information.
• Travel within the caseload area to meet individuals, providers, and partners.
• Determine eligibility, conduct needs assessments, and develop individualized employment plans.
• Counsel participants throughout the rehabilitation process, facilitate job searches, and move cases to closure.
• Monitor client progress, ensure timely service delivery, and document accurately in the AWARE system.
• Maintain confidentiality, provide public education about services, and process authorizations and invoices.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social/Human Services, Education, Special Education, Social Work, Counseling, or related field.
• At least two years of related experience; preference for a Master's degree or high‑volume case management experience.
