About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Controls & Systems Engineering Manager / Technical Lead to lead the development of state‑of‑the‑art X‑ray microscopes. The role combines hands‑on electrical engineering with team leadership in a fast‑growing, high‑technology environment.

Key responsibilities

• Determine and select electrical components for advanced microscopy products.
• Troubleshoot component issues and mentor engineers on diagnostic techniques.
• Create and maintain detailed electrical design documentation.
• Design and develop control systems, including power distribution units (PDUs) and safety interlocks.
• Oversee a team of electrical and controls engineers, ensuring project milestones are met.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Physics.
• Experience with complex mechanical assemblies and motion‑control systems.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in a collaborative team setting.
