Consumer Affairs Internship – 2027 Cohort

About the role

The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas is seeking a summer intern for its Consumer Affairs unit. You will gain hands‑on experience in risk‑focused supervision, consumer protection, and banking regulation while working alongside experienced staff.

Key responsibilities

• Shadow point‑in‑time examinations, target examinations, pre‑membership/merger examinations, and mid‑cycle reviews.
• Assist in reviewing consumer complaints against state member banks.
• Participate in portfolio examiner supervision activities and corrective‑action reviews.
• Observe scope‑vetting meetings, CA staff meetings, and scheduling sessions.
• Support the CA Quality Control function in a minor role.
• Attend CA training and contribute to System workgroups.
• Assist department management on special projects and time‑sensitive assignments.

Required profile

• Student entering junior or senior year, pursuing Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
• Interest in consumer protection, compliance, or banking regulation.
• Strong analytical and written/verbal communication skills.
• Understanding of the Federal Reserve and banking preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in groups.
• Willingness to obtain short‑term examiner credentials and CSI access.
