Commercial Truck Driving Professional Lab Assistant

About the role

The Professional Laboratory Assistant supports faculty in delivering the Commercial Truck Driving Certificate program. Working on the Clarkesville campus, you will help students acquire commercial truck driving skills while ensuring a safe and well‑maintained lab environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist faculty in instructing students on commercial truck operation and DOT regulations.
• Demonstrate driving abilities and ensure compliance with all Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements.
• Evaluate student progress toward program goals and objectives.
• Maintain both indoor and outdoor lab spaces, equipment, and inventory.
• Create and facilitate lab activities and field‑trip curricula.
• Uphold safety and security standards in the training area.
• Perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lb, bending, standing, climbing, and walking for extended periods.
• Teach day and/or evening classes up to 29 hours per week, Monday‑Thursday, with occasional Friday work.

Required profile

• Class A CDL license.
• Clean 7‑year Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
• DOT physical examination.
• Relevant work‑related experience in commercial truck driving.
• Ability to perform physical duties as described.
