Claims Fraud Investigator

About the role

Zurich North America is seeking an experienced Claims Fraud Investigator to join its Fraud and Investigation team. The position is fully remote within California, offering a flexible hybrid work model that balances autonomous work with occasional in‑office collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct investigations into suspected insurance fraud, including complex, layered or organized schemes.
• Perform field activities, vendor coordination, interviews, evidence gathering and deliver objective investigative reports.
• Analyze claims data, open‑source intelligence, social media and link analysis to identify fraud indicators.
• Maintain organized case files, prepare comprehensive reports and recommend actions to claims teams and management.
• Ensure compliance with SIU regulatory requirements, privacy laws and Zurich governance standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of experience in technical claims investigations, law enforcement or insurance special investigations, OR equivalent experience with a high school diploma.
• Knowledge of claims processes and fraud‑related regulations.
• Ability to travel for field investigations as needed.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
