CIB Associate – FX and Derivatives Middle Office

About the role

Join Santander’s Corporate Investment Banking team as a CIB Associate focused on FX and Derivatives Middle Office. You will support a broad range of market activities, ensuring accurate and efficient service delivery to the bank’s clients while contributing to operational transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Perform complex, non‑routine operational tasks to support team objectives.
• Investigate and resolve escalated issues, determining corrective actions.
• Execute complex transactions and conduct detailed research to resolve discrepancies.
• Support onboarding and training of new employees on systems, processes, and procedures.
• Identify and implement workflow improvements using data analysis, automation and AI tools.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives and operational changes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Data Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of experience in financial services or a data/analytics‑focused role within banking.
• Experience with Capital Markets Middle Office and Operations processes.
• Working knowledge of financial markets and commercial banking products.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python for data analysis, automation and workflow optimization.
• Hands‑on experience with Murex, MarkitWire and other marketplace applications.
• Experience using OpenAI tools and AI‑based solutions.
