About the role
The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) provides clinical and administrative support at BVMI, collecting lab specimens, performing EKGs, and assisting with patient navigation to ensure seamless care continuity.
Key responsibilities
- Verify patient identity, collect and process lab specimens, and perform EKGs as ordered.
- Manage lab orders, prepare Quest requisitions, schedule pickups, and maintain accurate records in the EMR.
- Answer calls, schedule appointments, support front‑desk check‑in/out, and assist with medical interpretation.
- Track referrals, obtain specialist notes, and follow up with patients on appointments and test results.
Required profile
- Certified Medical Assistant credential with proven phlebotomy and EKG experience.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English with strong communication skills.
- Proficient in computer use, EMR systems, and office software.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
