Biologist II – Wet Lab & In Vivo Research

About the role

The Biologist II will support early discovery and pipeline projects in cardiometabolic research within the Consumer Products Services division. This full‑time, onsite position involves planning and executing wet‑lab and in‑vivo studies while maintaining rigorous documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Design and run manual plate‑based ELISA immunoassays, perform data analysis and record results in electronic lab notebooks.
• Conduct cell culture, biochemical in‑vitro assays, isolate DNA/RNA for RT‑qPCR, and perform Western blotting and immunoprecipitation.
• Prepare and assist with animal necropsies, handle mice for dosing (p.o., s.c., i.p.) and conduct metabolic profiling assays such as insulin and glucose tolerance tests.
• Operate liquid‑handling automation (Tecan, Hamilton) and maintain laboratory equipment including centrifuges, spectrophotometers and ELISA readers.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Biology or a closely related field.
• At least one year of hands‑on laboratory experience performing experiments and analyzing data.

Required skills

• ELISA assay development and analysis.
• Cell culture and primary/immortalized cell line maintenance.
• RT‑qPCR, Western blotting, and immunoprecipitation techniques.
• Animal handling, dosing, necropsy preparation, and metabolic profiling assays.
• Liquid‑handler automation (Tecan, Hamilton) and standard lab equipment operation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint) and Electronic Lab Notebooks.
