In Vivo Biologist II

About the role

The In Vivo Biologist II supports multiple animal studies, handling dosing, tissue collection, and data recording. This position works within the Consumer Products Services division, reporting to a manager and contributing to high‑quality in‑vivo research.

Key responsibilities

• Assist team members in executing in‑vivo studies, recording dosing times, volumes, body weights, food consumption, and unscheduled events.
• Randomize, blind, formulate, and dose test compounds using PO, SC, IM, IV, and IP routes.
• Collect and deliver high‑quality tissue samples, including plasma, cerebrospinal fluid, dorsal root ganglion, brain, and other CNS structures.
• Process, label, and ship samples for internal and external analysis.
• Conduct or assist with in‑vivo behavioral studies and record data in electronic or handwritten notebooks.
• Prepare equipment, maintain lab cleanliness, manage supplies, and ensure instrument functionality.
• Report safety, technical, and instrument issues to appropriate contacts.
• Perform basic data analysis and support training activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology or a closely related field.
• Minimum two years of experience with molecular biology techniques and animal handling.

Required skills

• Proficiency in dosing and handling mice and rats.
• Ability to collect animal plasma, cerebrospinal fluid, and tissue samples.
• Experience with Windows operating system, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
• Basic data analysis skills.
