Auto Punch Press Operator

About the role

ABB's NEMA Motors Division, the global leading electric NEMA motors manufacturer, is hiring an Auto Punch Press Operator in Saint Louis. The position reports to the Manufacturing Manager (NEMA) and sits on the 3rd shift. Operators are trained in all steps of the job, and the work model is onsite.

Key responsibilities

• Perform auto press lamination for a minimum of 8 hours per day, 5 days a week, following safety procedures and stretching exercises at the start of every shift
• Verify safety mechanisms, press release forms and emergency stops are working before each run
• Inspect incoming materials and finished parts for defects, check specifications against blueprints and work orders, and verify flatness per coil requirements
• Manage material flow through straighteners and feeders, monitor lubrication systems, maintain loop conveyor operations and shut down equipment at the end of the run
• Follow safety compliance: wear required PPE, identify non-conforming material, complete documentation and report injuries, accidents and near misses

Required profile

• 0-2 years of industry-related experience
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly, with hand-eye coordination and dexterity
• Commitment to safety, understanding of ABB safety policies and hazard communication, and proper use of PPE
• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions, including blueprints and work orders, and to use basic mathematics
• Physical stamina to stand and walk for long periods, and willingness to work scheduled overtime including weekends and short-notice calls
• Reliable attendance and willingness to complete on-the-job training

• Hourly pay expected between $22.70 and $28.59, with a shift premium for 2nd and 3rd shifts
