Audit Intern – Internal Audit Experience

About the role

The Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland is seeking an Audit Intern to support its Internal Audit team. This 10‑ to 12‑week program offers hands‑on experience in risk‑based assurance, governance, and internal control evaluation.

Key responsibilities

• Assist on IT and operational audits for business areas within the Fourth District.
• Conduct interviews with clients, staff, and management to understand control environments.
• Analyze data and business processes to verify compliance with policies and procedures.
• Prepare workpapers for audit staff and management.
• Complete ad‑hoc projects such as flowcharting processes, developing audit tools, and updating departmental resources.

Required profile

• U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or green‑card holder.
• Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Business, IT/Cyber Security, or a related field with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
• At least one semester remaining before graduation.
• Ability to work in a deadline‑driven environment and multitask.

Required skills

• Strong computer/technical skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Access (or similar data tools).
