About the role

The Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland’s Research department is seeking a motivated undergraduate to join its team for a 10‑ to 12‑week summer internship. You will work alongside economists and research analysts, gaining hands‑on experience in economic research, data analysis, and programming.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in producing academic‑level economic research and monitoring regional and national economic trends.
• Support the modeling of complex economic systems and the analysis of large data sets.
• Contribute to public communications on economic issues and help evaluate information for monetary‑policy purposes.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related field with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
• U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or green‑card holder with at least one semester remaining.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and prior research experience is strongly preferred.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of econometrics and statistical packages such as Stata, MATLAB, R, or Python.
