About the role
The Tifton Judicial Circuit Public Defender's Office is seeking an Assistant Public Defender 1 to provide zealous representation to indigent clients in criminal cases before Superior Court.
Key responsibilities
- Represent clients throughout all phases of criminal proceedings, including arraignment, pre‑trial hearings, trial preparation, plea negotiations, trial, and sentencing.
- Conduct legal research, investigate cases, and prepare documentation for hearings and trials.
Required profile
- Juris Doctor from an accredited institution and licensed to practice law in Georgia (or eligible for licensure within one year).
- Strong commitment to indigent defense and client advocacy.
