Associate Manager, Flow Cytometry

About the role

IQVIA Laboratories is looking for an Associate Manager, Flow Cytometry to lead daily laboratory operations, supervise a team of scientists and deliver high-quality, compliant flow cytometry testing. The position is on site in Valencia, California.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of laboratory staff to ensure accurate and timely delivery.
• Oversee daily workflow, assign tasks and resolve technical or workload challenges.
• Hire, train, mentor and evaluate staff performance under the guidance of senior management.
• Monitor reagent and supply inventory and ensure availability within budget.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, CAP/CLIA and regulatory requirements.
• Review laboratory metrics to find process improvement opportunities and efficiency initiatives.
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to implement new tests, equipment and procedures.
• Serve as backup for daily laboratory operations as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science, medical laboratory technology or related field (equivalent education, training and experience may be accepted).
• At least 4 years of experience in a regulated laboratory, including at least 2 years in flow cytometry.
• Demonstrated experience supervising, training or mentoring laboratory staff.

Required skills

• In-depth knowledge of flow cytometry, clinical testing procedures, quality control and laboratory regulations (CAP/CLIA).
• Hands-on laboratory skills such as pipetting and assay execution.
• Working knowledge of quality assurance, safety standards, root-cause analysis and CAPA processes.
• Leadership, communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
