Associate Director / Director of Development (Fundraising)

About the role

The Constructive Dialogue Institute seeks an Associate Director or Director of Development to run its fundraising operations. Reporting to the Executive Director, you will manage grant writing, reporting, and the day‑to‑day development infrastructure while supporting high‑level donor relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development, submission, and reporting of grant proposals, ensuring compelling narratives and strict adherence to deadlines.
• Own and continuously improve fundraising systems and workflows, including HubSpot, grant calendars, and reusable content assets.
• Support the Executive Director in donor relationship management, prospect research, and strategic fundraising planning.

Required profile

• 5+ years of development or fundraising experience, with a track record of successful six‑ to seven‑figure grants.
• Exceptional written communication skills, able to translate complex ideas into clear, persuasive narratives.
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and self‑directed, capable of managing multiple deadlines with minimal oversight.
• Strong judgment and ability to anticipate issues, maintaining a high bar for quality and accuracy.
• Passionate about constructive dialogue and aligned with CDI’s mission.

Required skills

• HubSpot (CRM) proficiency.
