Associate, Business Control & Risk Management

About the role

The Associate, Business Control & Risk Management role supports Santander's Technology division by managing risk‑related activities, ensuring compliance with internal and external audit requirements, and driving a strong risk culture across the business line.

Key responsibilities

• Manage assigned audits, examinations, and regulatory exercises, including preparation, documentation, and reporting.
• Serve as the primary liaison for auditors and internal teams on risk‑related matters.
• Provide regular status updates and reports to managers and executive governance bodies.
• Promote risk awareness by communicating frameworks, policies, and standards within the business line.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop metrics, deliver accurate data, and maintain two‑way communication with SLoD/IA.
• Monitor all sources of risk, report exceptions, and facilitate corrective actions.
• Research emerging risk issues, assess operational, strategic, reputational, compliance, and model risks, and recommend improvements.
• Track Key Risk Indicators and ensure the risk profile stays within the defined risk appetite.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to develop, analyze, and challenge data.
• Excellent communication skills for coordinating with auditors and internal teams.
• Proactive attitude toward risk identification, assessment, and mitigation.
• Ability to produce clear, concise reports for both routine and executive audiences.
