Assistant Track & Field Coach – Sprints, Hurdles & Relays

About the role

The Assistant Track & Field Coach will support the East Texas A&M University athletics department by coaching sprint, hurdle, and relay events. This on‑site position involves direct interaction with student‑athletes, staff, and visiting teams.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with university, Southland Conference, and NCAA regulations.
• Perform data entry, maintain athlete files, and provide statistical analysis for performance tracking.
• Manage equipment inventory, requisition supplies, and oversee equipment maintenance.
• Coordinate housing for intersessions and arrange pre‑game meals with the campus cafeteria.
• Assist visiting teams with practice scheduling and related logistical needs.
• Support the organization of training camps and other program events.

Required profile

• Demonstrated ability to coach sprint, hurdle, and relay events at the collegiate level.
• Strong organizational skills for equipment, logistics, and data management.
• Knowledge of NCAA and conference rules and regulations.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with athletes, staff, and external teams.
