Assistant Teacher Floater – Washington County

About the role

The Washington County Assistant Teacher Floater works primarily at Imlay Elementary in Hillsboro and Errol Hassell Elementary in Beaverton, supporting CAIRO Academy’s preschool programs. You will partner with lead teachers to create a safe, play‑based learning environment for children ages 3‑5.

Key responsibilities

• Assist lead teachers with daily classroom operations, curriculum delivery, and family engagement.
• Step in as lead teacher when needed, including administering medication after RN training.
• Maintain compliance with DELC, PFA, PSP, OSHA, and local health regulations.
• Travel on short notice to any CAIRO Academy site across Washington and Multnomah counties.

Required profile

• Minimum age 18 and ORO Step 6 certification.
• At least one year of verified experience with children ages 3‑5 in a certified childcare setting.
• Associate’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, or related field, or a recognized credential such as CDA.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb, stand or walk up to 6 hours per day, and respond to emergencies.

Required skills

• Intermediate proficiency with Windows OS and Microsoft Office.
• Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Sheets).
• Experience using BambooHR or similar time‑management software.
• Familiarity with Teaching Strategies platform, Procare childcare management system, and Zoom.
