Assistant Swim Team Coach

About the role

Join the Charles River YMCA as an Assistant Swim Team Coach, supporting the Head Swim Coach with practices and meets. This part‑time, onsite role requires evening and weekend availability.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with swim team practices and competitions, including writing and implementing workouts as directed.
• Maintain a professional image consistent with YMCA mission and engage members to help them achieve their swimming goals.
• Lift up to 50 lb and travel to meets or alternate practice sites as needed.

Required profile

• At least 18 years of age; no prior experience required, training provided on site.
• Ability to work evenings, Sundays and occasional early‑morning sessions.

Required skills

• CPR, First Aid, O2 certification.
• Child Abuse Prevention training (within first four weeks).
• Respect in the Workplace (Sexual Harassment Prevention) training.
• USA Swimming Certification and YMCA Lifeguarding or Safety Training for Coaches.
