Assistant Production Operator

About the role

Join Spartech’s Greenville facility as an Assistant Production Operator, supporting the manufacture of specialty polymer products such as PETG face shields, COVID barriers, and flame‑retardant Royalite® components for aerospace and transportation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare polymer resins, perform material modifications, and collect accurate process data.
• Maintain process conditions, complete required paperwork, and record keeping.
• Support new product design, process development, and provide technical assistance to the Polymer Processing group and Physical Testing Laboratory.
• Troubleshoot processing of various resin types and perform minor mechanical repairs on lab equipment.
• Operate lab‑scale extruders, thermo‑formers, and related equipment.

Required profile

• High initiative with ability to work independently.
• Strong written and verbal communication, critical thinking, and problem‑solving skills.
• Attention to detail, reliable attendance, and a can‑do attitude.
• HS Diploma or equivalent.

Required skills

• Polymer resin preparation and material modification.
• Operation of lab‑scale extruders and thermo‑formers.
• Minor mechanical equipment repair.
• Accurate data collection and documentation.
