About the role

The Maintenance Planner for the Process Plant is responsible for planning, scheduling and coordinating preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance activities. The role ensures maximum equipment availability and reliability, supporting continuous operation, minimizing downtime and contributing to production and safety goals at Cobre Panamá.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, update and optimise maintenance plans and programmes for process‑plant equipment.
• Coordinate with maintenance, operations and safety teams to ensure safe and efficient execution of scheduled work.
• Conduct field inspections to define work scope, required materials, labour, tools and equipment.
• Maintain the master data in the CMMS and guarantee accurate documentation of all maintenance activities.
• Monitor work‑order execution, spare‑parts inventory and performance metrics.

Required profile

• University degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical Engineering or a related field, preferably from a recognised Panamanian university.
• At least 3 years of experience in maintenance execution and 3 years in planning/co‑ordination within industrial or mining plants.
• Experience creating and tracking maintenance plans, managing work orders and controlling spare‑parts inventories.
• Demonstrated achievements in improving equipment availability and reducing operating costs.
• Intermediate technical English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CMMS platforms (e.g., JD Edwards, SAP).
• Advanced Excel and MS Project for planning and scheduling.
• Knowledge of process‑plant equipment such as pumps, compressors, electrical and control systems.
• Familiarity with predictive and preventive maintenance methodologies, RCFA and ISO 55000 asset‑management standards.
• Understanding of industrial safety and environmental regulations applicable to mining.
