Assistant Manager, Marketing & Publications

About the role

The Assistant Manager, Marketing & Publications supports the Communications department in creating and managing creative assets across print and digital media, ensuring alignment with IASB’s brand standards and mission.

Key responsibilities

• Create layouts and graphics for advertisements, publications, presentations, email templates, infographics, and social media images.
• Draft, schedule, and monitor posts on LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook.
• Capture photography and videography at events, maintain digital asset libraries, and support multimedia displays for conferences.
• Provide typesetting and page‑layout support for the Illinois School Board Journal and other publications, including transitioning to digital formats.
• Operate production equipment (high‑speed copiers, wide‑format printers) and assist with mailroom tasks such as bulk mailing preparation.
• Maintain IASB‑branded documents, templates, and internal asset listings, ensuring brand compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, graphic design, or a related field.
• Strong written, verbal, and proofreading skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, meet tight deadlines, and collaborate across departments.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb and operate production equipment safely.

Required skills

• Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).
• Microsoft Office 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams).
• Social media platforms and scheduling tools.
• Email marketing platforms and basic web authoring (CMS, HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Photography and basic videography.
• Operation of bindery, high‑speed copier, and mailroom equipment.

What we offer

• Annual salary $42,000‑$56,000.
