Assistant General Auditor

About the role

The Assistant General Auditor leads a district of 19 professionals, providing high‑quality internal audit services for the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis and the System. Reporting to the General Auditor, this senior position ensures robust risk assessment, audit execution, and strategic alignment across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the internal audit program, ensuring accurate reporting and executive oversight.
• Develop and execute audit department strategy, driving improvements in audit effectiveness and deficiency reduction.
• Manage a $3+ million annual budget and allocate resources to strategic priorities.
• Coordinate internal audit support for risk management and external audit engagements.
• Lead audit activities across major operating areas, delivering actionable insights and enhancing internal controls.
• Develop talent pipelines and foster a high‑performing audit team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, internal auditing, compliance or related field.
• At least 10 years of progressive experience in accounting, auditing or compliance, including 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Experience managing multi‑million‑dollar budgets and leading large‑scale audit projects.
• U.S. citizenship (or eligible to become a citizen).
