About the role

Reporting to the Cash Operations Supervisor, the Cash Services department is seeking a Cash Operations Specialist to join the Ninth District Federal Reserve Bank currency‑processing operations in Minneapolis.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and verify currency and coin shipments for depository institutions, ensuring compliance with U.S. Treasury and Federal Reserve guidelines.
• Operate and monitor high‑speed currency processing machines, maintaining accountability for all notes.
• Count, balance, and manage large quantities of cash on a 1‑4 member team, completing daily inventory reconciliation.
• Maintain custody control standards and complete supporting documentation for all transactions.
• Provide mandatory overtime and on‑call coverage to address out‑of‑balance situations or high‑volume periods.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; college education preferred.
• Basic mathematics proficiency and accounting knowledge preferred.
• Entry‑level candidates with some experience in currency handling, financial services, or operations are encouraged to apply.
• Ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds.
