Assistant Community Manager - Multi-Family Apartment

About the role

Morguard, a fully integrated real estate company investing in multifamily assets across North America, is hiring a full-time Assistant Community Manager for its apartment community in Tampa, Florida. The position is a training ground for promotion to Community Management and covers a significant part of on-site operations, including rent collection and leasing apartments. The schedule varies and can include up to 2 Saturdays a month, particularly before the 1st of the month for rent collections.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and post rent each month and handle onsite accounting functions, including rent collection and AP/AR reconciliations.
• Assist with leasing and lease renewal efforts onsite.
• Handle resident work order requests and concerns, and coordinate resident service requests through maintenance technicians and other service associates.
• Follow up with new and current residents and maintain positive relationships with residents, vendors and contractors.
• Walk and inspect the property and act as point person when the primary manager is absent.
• Work weekends and early evenings as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of property management experience; a high school diploma is required, a bachelor's or associate degree is ideal.
• 1-3 years of direct multi-family property management experience with a professional designation (CAM, ARM, CPM, etc.) may be considered.
• Strong marketing/leasing experience and thorough knowledge of federal and state fair housing laws.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Required skills

• Financial reporting, organization and accounting skills with attention to detail.
• Familiarity with Entrata or Onesite, Excel and Microsoft Word.
