Artificial Intelligence Engineer

About the role

1st Edge is seeking an Artificial Intelligence Engineer to develop and maintain advanced software for the Missile Defense Agency. The role is on‑site at Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, AL, and involves creating AI‑driven applications, visualisation tools, and database interfaces.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement AI solutions using rule‑based, supervised and unsupervised learning techniques.
• Develop robust optimization engines and integrate large‑scale algorithms into software packages.
• Create and maintain graphical front‑ends, multi‑user GUIs, and SQL database interfaces.
• Identify and integrate COTS, GOTS, and open‑source components to enhance system capabilities.
• Deliver cloud‑ready solutions and support DevSecOps, Agile, CI/CD pipelines for rapid, secure delivery.

Required profile

• U.S. citizen with an active DoD security clearance.
• Minimum 3 years of experience developing AI solutions for complex problems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field.
