Aircraft Cabinetmaker – Aerospace Manufacturing

About the role

Aviation Technology Associates (AVTECH Global) is seeking an Aircraft Cabinetmaker to fabricate aircraft furniture and wood‑surfaced sub‑assemblies according to engineering drawings and specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Fabricate, assemble, glue, and finish cabinet shells, drawers, hinges, and other hardware using blueprints and aircraft specifications.
• Apply laminates, veneers, and cap strips; operate stationary and hand‑held power tools.
• Use the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks, and sign‑off completed work.
• Collaborate with lead technicians to implement Lean Six‑Sigma process improvements that reduce cost, cycle time, and man‑hours.
• Mentor junior technicians, conduct safety audits, and ensure compliance with 5S, safety, and housekeeping policies.

Required profile

• High School diploma or GED; technical certificate in cabinetmaking is a plus.
• Entry‑level to four years of woodworking or cabinetmaking experience; aerospace experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license may be required; participation in DOT/FAA drug and alcohol program may be required.

Required skills

• Woodworking and cabinetmaking techniques.
• Experience with laminates, veneers, and cap strips.
• Proficiency with stationary and hand‑held power tools.
• Use of material tracking systems.
• Knowledge of Lean Six‑Sigma process improvement methods.

What we offer

• Pay rate $23.32 – $33.81 per hour, depending on experience and location.
• 12‑month contract with possible extension and opportunity to become a direct hire after 90 days.
