Adult Education Specialist

About the role

Join Delta Area Economic Opportunity Corporation, a Missouri Community Action Agency, as part of the Delta Adult Education program. The Adult Education Specialist oversees and directs the planning, organizing, and implementation of the Adult Education Center in Portageville, supporting DAEOC’s mission to empower people for positive change.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating adult education instructors.
• Create and maintain class schedules and manage facilities and workspaces.
• Administer approved assessment tools, handle registration, orientation, advising, counseling, and retention interventions for students.
• Plan and execute recruitment activities and develop program initiatives.
• Identify new grant funding opportunities, conduct strategic planning, and perform program evaluation.
• Generate and maintain records, reports, and statistics for data‑driven decision making.
• Maintain partnerships with agencies, businesses, and organizations serving adult learners.
• Assist with public relations campaigns, promotional activities, and fiscal responsibility.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, or a related field preferred.
• Experience in adult education and/or a supervisory role desirable.
• Experience with federal grant management preferred.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, and travel within a six‑county area as needed.
