Adjunct Faculty – Doctor of Social Work (Remote)

About the role

Walden University seeks a dynamic, innovative adjunct faculty member to teach in its Ph.D. in Social Work and DSW programs. This part‑time, remote position involves delivering online courses, mentoring student research, and contributing to the university’s social change mission.

Key responsibilities

• Teach assigned courses using the Learning Management System (LMS) and maintain active interaction with students.
• Provide timely feedback on discussion boards, respond to student inquiries within 48 hours, and hold regular online office hours.
• Mentor students on research projects, including dissertation work, and evaluate their progress.
• Potentially attend optional face‑to‑face residencies or intensives.

Required profile

• Earned Ph.D. or DSW in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• MSW from a CSWE‑accredited program.
• Minimum three years of post‑MSW practice and three years of degree‑level teaching experience (online experience preferred).
• Experience serving on or chairing dissertation committees and a record of scholarly contributions.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Learning Management Systems and online teaching technologies.
• Experience using SPSS for quantitative analysis and/or NVivo for qualitative analysis.
