Workday Tax Analyst (Payroll & Tax Consultant)

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Tax Analyst Consultant with deep expertise in Workday HCM/Payroll and ADP SmartCompliance. The role is fully remote and focuses on ensuring payroll tax compliance, performing reconciliations, and supporting clients with prior‑year tax issues and remediation efforts.

Key responsibilities

• Review and validate payroll tax configurations in Workday, including multi‑state and local taxation.
• Monitor legislative updates and ensure timely tax filings across all jurisdictions.
• Analyze payroll tax liabilities versus withholdings to identify discrepancies and compliance risks.
• Investigate payroll calculation errors and tax deduction issues using Workday and ADP reporting tools.
• Conduct research on federal, state, and local tax regulations to support compliance.
• Audit employee tax configurations and payroll transactions for accuracy.
• Reconcile payroll data between Workday, ADP SmartCompliance, and the General Ledger.
• Review prior‑year tax filings and notices, preparing amended W‑2Cs and corrective actions as needed.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of hands‑on Workday Payroll/Tax experience.
• Proven experience with Workday EIBs, including off‑cycle input processing and tax amendments.
• Advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP).
• Strong analytical thinking and ability to work independently in a remote setting.
• Experience with ADP SmartCompliance.
• Excellent communication and client‑facing skills.
