Financial Controller

About the role

FreshDirect is seeking a Financial Controller to lead its accounting function and ensure the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of financial operations. This role partners closely with the CFO and executive leadership to deliver best‑in‑class reporting, strengthen internal controls, and enable data‑driven decisions across a complex, operations‑driven business.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strong leadership to the accounting organization, fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and produce accurate financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
• Deliver clear reporting and variance analysis to executive leadership and key stakeholders.
• Partner with cross‑functional leaders in Operations, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to support budgeting and forecasting.
• Design, implement, and maintain a robust internal control environment to safeguard assets and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Identify opportunities to streamline and automate accounting processes, improving efficiency and scalability.
• Lead the ongoing management and optimization of ERP and financial systems.
