About the role
Gerdau is seeking a reliable Class A CDL driver to operate truck tractors safely in a production environment. The role involves handling combination vehicles, maintaining logs, and supporting loading and unloading activities.
Key responsibilities
- Operate a truck tractor safely, including backing and turning in tight work areas.
- Maintain required trip logs, records, and manifests, and complete paperwork accurately and promptly.
- Keep vehicle appearance and cleanliness, and perform minor repairs on tractors and trailers.
- Assist with loading and unloading as needed and perform other related duties.
Required profile
- Minimum 2 years experience as a commercial truck driver or completion of a truck driving school with at least one year driving experience.
- Pass FMCSA DOT physical and drug screening.
- Ability to work required hours, climb stairs/ladders up to ~20 feet, and work in all weather conditions.
- Good communication skills, clear verbal English, and ability to read and write at a high‑school level.
