About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Manager, Buyer III to lead purchasing activities at its Heredia, Costa Rica site. This full‑time, onsite position oversees buyers and expediters, ensuring vendor reliability and alignment with engineering and manufacturing needs.

Key responsibilities

• Directs buyers and expediters to meet company objectives.
• Evaluates vendor reliability and maintains working relationships.
• Reviews and approves purchases up to a specified dollar amount.
• Develops procurement policies and procedures.
• Monitors cost, schedule, and performance of major subcontracts.
• Coordinates purchasing with engineering and manufacturing to maintain inventory levels.

Required profile

• Receives assignments with clear objectives and recommends policy changes.
• Provides direction to employees according to established policies.
• Exercises judgment within defined procedures to determine appropriate actions.
• Understands and complies with Applied Materials' global Standards of Business Conduct.
