Tax Manager or Senior Tax Accountant – North Austin CPA Firm

About the role

Our client, a growing CPA firm in North Austin, is creating a senior‑level position to lead tax review work and support expanding advisory services. The role offers high visibility, direct interaction with firm leadership, and the chance to shape the tax practice as the firm scales.

Key responsibilities

• Review individual, corporate, partnership and other tax returns prepared by staff and seniors.
• Ensure accuracy, compliance and quality control across all tax engagements.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior tax professionals.
• Collaborate with leadership on client matters, tax planning opportunities and advisory projects.
• Manage deadlines and workflow during peak tax seasons.
• Serve as a trusted resource for complex tax questions and client inquiries.

Required profile

• Public accounting tax experience with a focus on review and oversight.
• CPA designation preferred.
• Strong technical tax knowledge and meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently in a smaller‑firm, entrepreneurial environment.
• Excellent communication and client service skills.
