Talent Acquisition Associate

About the role

Fairstead is a real estate firm focused on affordable housing, owning and managing more than 30,000 apartments across 28 states. It is looking for a Talent Acquisition Associate in New York to source and coordinate hiring for site-level roles such as porters and maintenance technicians, keeping a steady pipeline and supporting hiring managers.

Key responsibilities

• Sourcing and engagement: proactively source and screen candidates for porter, maintenance technician and other site-level roles, reach out via job boards and sourcing tools, write and post job listings and reply quickly to applicants.
• Travel to multiple locations to host onsite job fairs.
• Scheduling and coordination: manage interviews across sites and time zones, keep the ATS current and accurate, follow up with candidates and hiring managers, run background and reference checks, and coordinate new-hire setup with IT.
• Requisition management: open and close requisitions, post roles to job boards, and run weekly pipeline and headcount reports for the Talent Acquisition Manager.
• Offer handling: generate offer letters, track signatures and confirm start dates with site managers.
• Candidate experience: act as the first point of contact, flag bottlenecks and support the recruiting team on additional searches.

Required profile

• 2-3 years of recruiting, sourcing or recruiting-coordination experience, ideally in a high-volume or fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable managing many open roles and candidates at once.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organization and time-management skills.
• Nice to have: experience recruiting for property management, maintenance, trades, hospitality or retail; experience with AI-powered sourcing, screening or scheduling tools; bilingual English/Spanish; experience recruiting across multiple markets.
