Senior UI/UX Designer - Physical AI Robotics

About the role

Dexmate is building a unified platform combining robotic hardware with a Physical AI OS, aiming to lower the barrier to entry for robotics. As one of its earliest design hires, you will shape products, interaction paradigms, design systems and user experience philosophy. The role is full-time and on-site at the Santa Clara office, within the Design department, and pays $100K-$300K.

Key responsibilities

• Pioneer new interaction models for human-robot communication beyond traditional UI paradigms.
• Design end-to-end experiences across mobile, web, robotics interfaces and physical controls.
• Create intuitive workflows that make advanced robotics accessible to developers, operators and enterprises.
• Lead user research on how people interact with robots and Physical AI systems.
• Build scalable design systems spanning digital and physical touchpoints.
• Collaborate with AI, robotics and hardware teams and work directly with founders on product strategy.
• Rapidly prototype and iterate using AI-native design workflows, owning the full design lifecycle.
• Define UX standards and interaction patterns for the emerging Physical AI industry.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional product design or UI/UX experience.
• Strong portfolio with shipped products, including experience taking products from 0 to 1.
• Active daily use of AI tools in the design workflow.
• Ability to work independently with high ownership and excellent communication skills.
• Bonus points: robotics, AI, AR/VR, IoT, industrial design, motion or spatial interaction experience, front-end knowledge, 3D applications, interest in AI and HCI.

Required skills

• Expert Figma and modern prototyping tools (ProtoPie, Principle, Framer or similar).
• Web and mobile design.
• AI-native design workflows (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, AI prototyping tools).
