Graphic/Digital Design Intern

About the role

Fast Horse, an award-winning integrated marketing firm in Minneapolis' North Loop, is looking for a graphic/digital design intern to join its creative team. The intern helps set the creative tone of campaigns by making visuals across all media and contributes ideas across disciplines, working with world-class brands, startups and non-profits. The pace is fast, so the ideal candidate is a quick thinker who can handle several priorities and adapt their design style to different client objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Take part in brainstorming sessions and generate new ideas and iterations on existing ones
• Create design solutions for print and digital platforms that match client brand standards
• Join internal creative reviews and possibly attend client presentations
• Work with the team to maintain quality and service, delivering projects on time and on budget
• Prepare production-ready files and assets for web and social media campaigns
• Collaborate with the social media team on content for Fast Horse's own channels
• Refine and finalize decks, production files, social copy and other creative assets

Required profile

• Graduate of a four-year graphic design or communication arts program
• Portfolio showing a solid foundation in design principles, typography and a clear creative eye
• Eagerness to take constructive feedback and a strong interest in sports is a plus
• Must live in or relocate to the Minneapolis area

Required skills

• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
• Experience building files for print and digital mediums
• Familiarity with AI design tools and willingness to explore them
• Solid organization, attention to detail and reliability in meeting deadlines

What we offer

• Three-month internship, extendable by another three months depending on performance
• 32 hours per week, Monday to Thursday, hybrid with remote Mondays
• $20 per hour
