Senior Trial Attorney – Workers Compensation

About the role

Zurich North America is seeking a Workers' Compensation Defense Trial Attorney or Senior Trial Attorney to join its growing team in Irvine, CA. The role involves handling all phases of workers' compensation litigation while maintaining a healthy work‑life balance through a hybrid schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full litigation lifecycle from case evaluation to resolution, including discovery, hearings, and settlements.
• Collaborate with claims professionals to develop case strategy and provide technical guidance on complex matters.
• Mentor junior attorneys and serve as a subject‑matter resource for high‑complexity cases (senior level).

Required profile

• Juris Doctor and membership in good standing of the California State Bar.
• Minimum 5 years (Trial Attorney) or 7 years (Senior Trial Attorney) of litigation experience.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex litigation independently and provide guidance to others (senior level).

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Proficiency with Adobe tools.
• Experience using legal research platforms such as Lexis or Westlaw.
