Workers' Compensation Trial Attorney (Senior)

About the role

Zurich Insurance is expanding its Workers' Compensation defense team in Pasadena. The position offers a hybrid schedule with one in‑office day per week and focuses on complex litigation while maintaining work‑life balance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all phases of Workers' Compensation litigation from evaluation through resolution.
• Partner with claims professionals to develop case strategy, conduct discovery, negotiate settlements and appear at hearings.
• Advocate for clients throughout the litigation process and mentor junior attorneys (senior level).
• Serve as a technical resource on complex matters and provide guidance to colleagues.

Required profile

• Juris Doctor and membership in good standing of the California State Bar.
• 5+ years (Trial Attorney) or 7+ years (Senior) of litigation experience.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex cases independently and provide technical guidance.
• Strong communication, negotiation and analytical skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience using Adobe.
• Legal research using Lexis or Westlaw.
