Senior Manager, BIM/VDC

About the role

The Digital Engineering Group at Suffolk seeks a senior leader to oversee BIM, Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) and Plan + Control for the Florida business. This role combines hands‑on execution with team leadership to deliver integrated digital engineering solutions across the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Manage delivery of Digital Engineering, VDC and Plan + Control for multiple large, complex projects.
• Develop BIM Execution Plans, scopes, schedules and budgets for digital services.
• Create 3D‑7D models to support pursuits, pre‑construction, construction and handover phases.
• Coordinate with internal teams and third‑party vendors, track KPIs and drive continuous improvement.
• Provide training, mentorship and software support to project teams.

Required profile

• 4‑year degree in a related field and 8‑10 years of VDC design or construction experience.
• Proven ability to lead VDC on multiple large, complex projects and manage direct reports.
• Strong communication, teaching and presentation skills.
• Demonstrated accountability, goal‑orientation and collaborative problem‑solving.

Required skills

• Advanced 3D parametric modeling (Revit) and model coordination software (Navisworks).
• Quantity takeoff extraction, clash detection and custom Revit family creation.
• 4D simulation integrating construction schedules and 5D/6D cost/asset data.
• High‑quality rendering of BIM models.
