Safety & Fire Protection Unit Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Safety & Fire Protection Unit Manager to lead the Health & Safety Unit within our Environmental Health & Safety team. You will drive compliance with all health, safety and environmental regulations and foster a culture of safety excellence across the plant.

Key responsibilities

• Advocate and live the "Safety Always" culture, implementing EHS strategies and ensuring full regulatory compliance.
• Manage, mentor and develop Health & Safety staff, assign projects and assess performance.
• Develop and maintain EHS policies, compliance tracking programs and record‑keeping systems.
• Coordinate regulatory submissions, permits, citation rebuttals and audit activities, leading remediation of findings.
• Maintain emergency response procedures, investigate incidents and drive continuous improvement in accident rates.
• Support waste management, hazardous substance control and ISO 14001/45001 certification efforts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in occupational safety and health or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing‑intensive environment.
• Strong command of written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Knowledge of engineering science and technology applications.
• Proficiency in mathematics (arithmetic, algebra, statistics, etc.).
• Understanding of chemistry, chemical processes and safety handling.
• Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations and government codes.
