Retail Manager (Freelance) - Live Event Festival

About the role

Fever, a tech platform for culture and live entertainment, is hiring a Retail Performance Manager (freelance) to run its retail stores for a festival. The role sits between the Event Manager and the Global Retail Lead and covers store operations, team management, stock control, Square POS accuracy, add-on fulfillment and load-in/load-out. It runs from 9/21/2026 to 1/9/2027, about six days per week, 14:00–23:30 plus meetings and reporting, with prep work from home and on-site work for load-in, the event run and strike.

Key responsibilities

• Run the daily retail stores, keep standards high, resolve guest issues and act as the main onsite retail contact.
• Lead load-in: set up stores, verify fixtures and lighting, liaise with the Props team, set up back-of-house and storage containers, train staff on Square POS and run a final readiness check.
• Manage the retail team: create rosters within budget, deliver training, track hours, and coach staff on Square POS and store standards.
• Control stock: receive deliveries, run weekly or monthly stock takes, reconcile stock in Square and keep accurate records.
• Merchandise products, keep stores clean and well-stocked, and monitor sales metrics such as sales per head and average transaction value.
• Manage add-on fulfillment and deluxe bundles, with daily counts and weekly stock takes.
• Report daily metrics and a weekly summary, then a final show report with recommendations.
• Oversee load-out, pack and label stock, and reconcile final stock with Square.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of retail management, high-volume retail, experiential retail, live event or festival experience.
• Team leadership in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment; able to work days, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Physical demands: standing for long periods, lifting up to 25 lbs unassisted, bending and kneeling; must be eligible to work in the United States.
• First aid certification is a plus.

Required skills

• POS systems; Square experience preferred.
• Google Drive, Google Sheets and Google Meet.

Paid at $350 per day.
