Registered Respiratory Therapist – Children’s Hospital (Sign‑on Bonus up to $30k)

About the role

Join the Children’s Hospital at Lehigh Valley Health Network as a Registered Respiratory Therapist. Provide critical and general respiratory care to pediatric patients while benefiting from a sign‑on bonus of up to $30,000.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate, manage, and treat patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies and abnormalities.
• Perform mechanical ventilator management, Bi‑PAP therapy, and continuous respiratory monitoring.
• Set up and operate aerosol treatment equipment, administer prescribed respiratory medications, and document patient response.
• Maintain inventory of respiratory equipment and ensure adequate stock.
• Conduct emergency cardiopulmonary resuscitation, manage airways, and monitor ventilator parameters for critical care patients.
• Perform arterial blood gas studies and interpret pulse oximetry data.
• Educate patients on sleep apnea therapy, CPAP/Bi‑PAP usage, and conduct nocturnal sleep screenings.

Required profile

• Associate’s Degree from an accredited RRT program (or Bachelor’s for preferred).
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license in Pennsylvania within 1 year of hire.
• Certification: NBRC, ACLS, Basic Life Support, PALS, NRP, and Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) within required time frames.
• Physical ability to lift 40‑50 lb, stand/walk for long periods, and perform patient transfers.

• Sign‑on bonus up to $30,000 for experienced candidates (up to $20,000 for new graduates).
